Volunteering
Volunteers are a vital part of the Circle of Sisters program. Come and join us in helping to build self-esteem and support young girls in making healthy, empowering choices in their lives.
We provide:
• Flexible schedules
• A match of your skills and interests
to your personal goals
• Valuable experience in leadership
and youth work
• Meaningful volunteer experience in
your community
• Safe space to learn new skill sets
• Training and support
There are many different ways to volunteer your time with Circle of Sisters.
• Become a volunteer youth mentor
Along with the group facilitators on staff, volunteer mentors help to run the Circle of Sisters after school groups. They help out with everything from material preparation to actually working with the girls onsite.
Please look here [link to volunteer mentor page] for further information about the volunteer youth mentor position.
• Become a guest presenter
Can’t commit regularly, but still want to give your time to Circle of Sisters? Become a guest presenter! If you have a special area of expertise, we’d love for you to share it with our girls.
Some example guest presenters Circle of Sisters has had in the past are:
• Karate Instructors
• Art Teachers
• Nutrition presenters
• Other Positions
Not interested in working directly with girls but would still like to contribute to Circle of Sisters? There’s a lot of behind the scenes work that goes on at Circle of Sisters. We are also looking for volunteers to:
• Write grants
• Help develop our website
• Create short films or other creative
media projects
• Create and edit our quarterly E-newsletter
• Support facilitators in planning after
school programs
If you are interested in volunteering for any of these positions or would like to obtain more information about any of these opportunities, please contact Jen Hyman for more information at 707-525-5300 ext. 3221 or srm-mb-circleofsisters@stjoe.org.
